Semaglutide
It is long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analog developed by Novo Nordisk. It is indicated for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes who are receiving metformin and/or sulfonylureas in addition to diet and exercise and who do not meet target blood sugar levels. It is also indicated for reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, or non-fatal stroke) in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
